Manchester Airport unveils cutting-edge Vehicle Condition Capture

As part of a comprehensive redevelopment project aimed at modernising and streamlining parking operations at Manchester Airport, the airport has recently unveiled a brand-new Meet & Greet operation on Terminal T2. One of the key features of this new operation is the installation of a cutting-edge Vehicle Condition Capture (VCC) from ANPR International, which will help to improve the accuracy and efficiency of tracking and recording vehicle damage.

For Manchester Airport, the decision to install this latest generation of VCC technology was an easy one, as they had already seen firsthand the many benefits and advantages that this type of system can offer to airport parking operations. With a focus on providing the best possible customer experience, Manchester Airport understands that the key to a successful parking operation is to make it as efficient, accurate, and streamlined as possible, and the VCC system is a perfect example of how this can be achieved.

The VCC system at Manchester Airport is made up of a triple lane canopy, with each lane incorporating 10 of our 4th Generation HD Damage Recording Cameras. These cameras are all linked to an onsite server and ANPR service, which enables the system to be fully integrated with the ParkIT parking and booking platform.

The installation process for the VDRS system was seamless, with the full installation and integration package delivered by ANPR in just under three weeks from start to finish. This allowed for the system to be functional and ready for the November opening and arrival of the first customers this week.

One of the key features of the new cameras is their ability to capture images of the vehicle with a much higher level of resolution, thanks to their 4k HD capabilities. Additionally, the cameras have superior colour range and contrast, as well as several light-enhancing features and filters, which help to compensate for glare and reflection, particularly beneficial when it comes to lighter-coloured vehicles.

Overall, the new VCC system at Manchester Airport is a perfect example of how technology can be used to improve the customer experience, increase efficiency, and streamline the parking process for airport operations. With the increased accuracy and efficiency provided by the VDRS system, airport customers can have peace of mind knowing that their vehicles are in safe hands and that any damage will be tracked and recorded in real-time.
